It has been two years since Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive exit from Manchester United.
The legendary Portuguese forward made a fairytale return to Old Trafford in 2021, 12 years after he initially left to join Real Madrid.
It always seemed inevitable that Cristiano Ronaldo would return at some point in his career, and there were big expectations when he joined up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s star-studded side.
However, Ronaldo’s fairytale return quickly turned into a nightmare when Solskjaer started the season poorly and was sacked. United then turned to Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag, but Ronaldo was an extremely bad fit for their playing style.
Ronaldo ended up leaving United in 2022 after holding an explosive interview with Piers Morgan where he criticised the club, the Glazers and Ten Hag.
However, there will always be an affection between United and Ronaldo, and it seems that also applies to his son.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s son spotted wearing Man United shirt
When Ronaldo returned to Manchester in 2021, his son also joined up with United’s academy and was a star in the youth ranks.
However, following the family’s move to Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Jr signed for Al-Nassr alongside his father. There were reports that he had also been training with Real Madrid’s academy.
Ronaldo has trained in Man United gear with his son since his exit, and it seems they both still share a close connection to the club despite his dramatic exit.
Cristiano Jr has been pictured again wearing a United shirt, and the name on the back suggests he is a big fan of one player in particular.
Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez shared a photo on Instagram of Cristiano Jr on in a United shirt with Alejandro Garnacho‘s name emblazoned on the back.
Alejandro Garnacho is looking to emulate Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo’s son is clearly a fan of Garnacho, and Garnacho is certainly a fan of his father.
Ronaldo is a clear inspiration for Garnacho, who was close to the Portuguese star during his time at Old Trafford and has replicated his iconic celebration on multiple occasions.
Garnacho’s nickname in Argentina is also a reference to his adoration of Ronaldo.

Garnacho started the season superbly and has already been involved in seven goals for United. He looks set to enjoy a breakthrough season similar to Ronaldo’s at Old Trafford 20 years ago.
The United academy gem has become a key player under Ten Hag and is looking to emulate Ronaldo’s rise to success. If he can keep up his current form he is on track.
