Ronaldo Nazario is among those few footballers who were lucky enough to play for Barcelona and Real Madrid, even achieving success at both clubs.
However, he was in Catalonia for only one season while in Madrid he spent a full five years.
In an interview with Brazilian icon Romario, Ronaldo reflected on that season he wore the Barcelona jersey.
Specifically, he spoke about his departure in 1997, revealing that he had been promised a new contract by the club, before it was later announced that he had been sold to Inter.
“It was a punch in the face. I loved the city, for me they had a big management problem for a long time.”
“Rivaldo left fighting. Ronaldinho left fighting. Look at the history that Barcelona has built with so many successful Brazilian players, but in the end the relationship deteriorated and ended very badly,” said Ronaldo Nazario.
Ronaldo is still involved in Spanish football as he is the owner of Real Valladolid, while he also identified his best and worst teammate during his five years at Real Madrid.
“Zidane was the best player. He was very different, he had a lot of class and he was very technical, simple as that.”
“Worst teammate? There are many, many. But there was one at Real Madrid, Thomas Gravesen. He was a Danish midfielder. He was a really good guy, but at football he was very bad,” the Brazilian legend concluded./Telegraph/
